Brakfontein

On 14 September 1876, thirteen days after the death, somebody at Brakfontein filled in Sterfkennis No. 678 for Petrus Jacobus Booijsen, aged 88, and wrote the names of his parents on line 3. Fifteen years later it takes two more: his son's wife on 9 May 1891 and their son five days after her. And in 1892 Hendrik Stefanus, marrying again at Zeerust, still gives Brakfontein as his home — sixteen years on the same ground. The coordinates are approximate: the district is certain, the farm is not yet placed.
