…Fatal George Kolbe died in 1844 and Margaret Downing in 1867. Neither can be in a photograph taken in the late 1870s. Probably their son George Augustus Kolbe (b. 1836) and his wife — the repeated forename is the obvious route by which the caption went astray. → Kathleen Mary Barry (Booysen) Listed in the tree as a sister of Catherine Maria Sophia “Kathleen” Barry, also married to a Booysen, with no dates. Resolved RESOLVED by John Barry's 1915 death notice, which lists only ONE Barry daughter married to a Boyson. The arithmetic closes: 8 surviving + 2 predeceased + 1 duplicate = the tree's 11.
