His 1845 death notice (estate 7698) and his gravestone both give 1 December 1844, and neither his notice nor his widow’s 1867 notice lists a Julia. Reject the child, keep the date. The same two documents also drop KEETOR PETER BENJAMIN KOLBE, whom the tree gives a 1840 birth — he is in neither list.…

He died young, or he does not belong in this family.
