  «L'anno milleottocento quindici, il giorno diciotto del mese di Marzo … è comparso ANGELANDREA DI GUIDA d'anni VENTICINQUE, di professione colono, domiciliato in detto Comune, strada MADDALENA, ed ha dichiarato … da TERESA VIGLIOTTA sua moglie legitima di anni venticinque, un maschio … A cui se li è dato il nome di DOMENICO.»
  
  He is the hinge of this archive's whole di Guida case. Baptised 29 November 1791 to Giuseppe di Guida and Maddalena Rivetta, he died at Arienzo on 21 October 1817 as the husband of Teresa Vigliotta, his civil act naming the same parents — and it was that match, parish against civil, that proved Antonia di Guida's parentage.   Twenty-five in March 1815 puts his birth about 1790; the parish says November 1791. A year out, in the same direction these clerks always err.
  
  He is on STRADA MADDALENA — his father's street.”
