What the registers say

  • death — Oct 1811 , Arienzo, strada Camellara
“A CRISCI WOMAN LIVING ON STRADA CAMELLARA, BORN ABOUT 1736 — AND HER DAUGHTER MARRIED A CARFORA.

WHY A CRISCI ON THAT STREET MATTERS. Two of the three women who married into this archive's first Falco generations were Crisci — Francesca Crisci, wife of Matteo Falco, and Andreana Crisci, wife of Vincenzo Falco — and the Falco lived on strada Camellara. This archive has never been able to say where its Crisci came from. Here is a Crisci household on that street in 1811.

IT IS NOT CLAIMED AS THEIRS. The 1810 register shows a whole Crisci clan on a street that carries their own name — Domenico, Luca, Felice, Francesco, Nicola — and the name is the commonest in these registers after Laudato. [[surname-ligature-test]]”
