Francesco Carfora & Pasqua Morgillo
Giovanni Morgillo
Recorded in the household of Francesco Carfora & Pasqua Morgillo.
Giovanni Morgillod. 10 Nov 1864
This chart is empty, and that is a statement rather than an omission. This person is named inside somebody else's act — as a grandparent, in the «del fu» clause that gives a parent's own father. No household here holds them in their own right, and no act read so far names their spouse or their other children. The page exists because a record names them.
What the registers say
- named as living — 29 Jun 1828 , Arienzo “«figlia di GIOVANNI MORGILLO, di professione contadino, domiciliato ivi» — and the act does not mark him dead, where it marks both of the groom's parents dead in the same sentence. Living at Arienzo in June 1828. A GENNARO MORGILLO, thirty-three, of strada Cappellotto della Porta di Sopra, witnessed his granddaughter's birth in 1830; the act does not say he is kin and this archive does not say so either.
---
HE DIED ON 10 NOVEMBER 1864, AGED EIGHTY-TWO — AND THE ACT GIVES HIS OWN PARENTS. Found on 22 September 2026 while reading the Arienzo death registers for somebody else entirely. Arienzo, Morti 1864, act 73 (an_ua14366img 40R):
THE IDENTIFICATION RESTS ON HIS WIFE'S NAME, NOT HIS OWN. Morgillo is among the four commonest surnames in these registers and Giovanni is a common forename; what settles it is «VEDOVO DI DOMENICA CRISCI», which is exactly the woman the 1828 marriage act names as Pasqua Morgillo's mother — and the villaggio Crisci is the strada Crisci the bride lived on in 1828.
Eighty-two in November 1864 puts his birth about 1782. He outlived his daughter Pasqua, dead before January 1860, and he was alive at her marriage thirty-six years earlier.”ANTENATI an_ua14232 img12r act11 - death — 10 Nov 1864 , Arienzo, villaggio Crisci “Arienzo, Morti 1864, act 73 — «GIOVANNI MORGILLO, VEDOVO DI DOMENICA CRISCI, nato in Arienzo, di anni ottantadue, di professione COLONO, domiciliato nel Villaggio CRISCI». Died at three in the morning on 10 November 1864; the act was drawn the next day. Maria Antonia Carfora's maternal grandfather, and the last of that generation this archive can reach — Antenati's Arienzo deaths stop the following year.”ANTENATI an_ua14366 img40r act73 — READ FROM THE IMAGE
