Rafael LLERENA (Buenos Aires, b. c.1881)
AN ARGENTINE-BORN LLERENA HOUSEHOLD IN BUENOS AIRES, found 15 September 2026 and new to this archive. "bautizo solemnemente ... a JUAN CARLOS que nacio el dia diez de Julio del ano mil novecientos diez, hijo legitimo de D. RAFAEL LLERENA natural del Pais de veinte y nueve anos de edad, y de Dona MARIA CARLOTA AMADEO LASTRA natural del Pais de veinte y siete anos, domiciliados en Calle Cerrito 535." His son is called JUAN CARLOS - which is why this record surfaced at all, in a search for Pablo Armando's father. The son is NOT that man: he was born in 1910. But the FATHER is the kind of person this archive has been looking for - a Llerena born in Argentina about 1881, within a year of Pablo Armando, living in central Buenos Aires. Nothing connects him here. He is recorded as a lead, not a relative. He sits beside the other unresolved Argentine namesake already in this register, Gilberto Lerena b.1879 who landed in 1928. READ OFF THE PLATE 21 September 2026, and it is a printed form, filled in, at the PARROQUIA DE SAN NICOLAS, BUENOS AIRES, ANO DE 1910. Film 004571164 image 00201, folio 370. THE CHILD IS A JUAN CARLOS. 'bautizo solemnemente a JUAN CARLOS LLERENA, que nacio el dia DIEZ Y SEIS DE JULIO del ano mil novecientos diez, hijo legitimo de D.r D. RAFAEL LLERENA, natural del PAIS, de VEINTE Y NUEVE anos de edad, y de D.a MARIA CARLOTA AMADEO LASTRA, natural del Pais, de VEINTE Y SIETE anos de edad.' So this row's estimate of c.1881 is confirmed by the act - twenty-nine in July 1910 - and the double L is his own, in a Buenos Aires parish in 1910. WHY IT MATTERS, AND WHY IT IS NOT WHAT THE ARCHIVE IS LOOKING FOR: this act creates a JUAN CARLOS LLERENA at Buenos Aires, and Juan Carlos Lerena is the name on Pablo Armando's 1908 enrolment card. This child was born in 1910. Pablo Armando was born in 1882. The child cannot be his father and is not claimed to be. He is recorded so that the next search which turns up a Juan Carlos Llerena in Buenos Aires meets a dated row rather than a fresh hope. AND THE ACT NAMES A SECOND LLERENA WOMAN: the madrina signed it herself, in her own hand, 'Alejandrina Llerena' - and a literate woman signing a Buenos Aires parish register in 1910 is the kind of person who leaves other records. The padrino signs 'A. Lastra', which is the mother's family.
No record here names a parent, spouse, child or sibling for this person. This archive calls that unplaced: held, named, shown with the record that produced them, and not tied to a household on anything less.
