  “A BROTHER FOR SABBATINO, FOUND SIX HOURS AFTER THIS HOUSEHOLD WAS CREATED — AND IN A DIFFERENT TOWN'S REGISTER. Arienzo, Matrimoni 1856, act 10, found while sweeping a marriage volume for FALCO and not for Annecchino at all:
  
  «Atto di solenne promessa di matrimonio — Num. d'ordine 10. L'anno mille ottocento cinquantasei, il dì ventiquattro di Marzo … avanti di Noi ALFONSO CIOFFI secondo eletto ed uffiziale dello Stato Civile di Arienzo … comparsi nella Casa Comunale GIACOMO ANNECCHINO, di anni trentanove, nato in FORCHIA, di professione contadino, domiciliato in Forchia, figlio di CARMINE ANNECCHINO defunto, di professione contadino, domiciliato in Forchia, e di ROSA CEGLIA, domiciliata in Forchia; e GIACINTA CAI———, di anni trentasette, nata in Arienzo, domiciliata in Arienzo». Witnesses ALFONSO VERDICCHIO and PASQUALE LAUDATO.
  
  Thirty-nine in March 1856 puts his birth about 1817 — eight years before Sabbatino, who was born 20 February 1825 to the same two people. His birth act has not been looked for; the Forchia births of 1817 are an_ua29046 by the Caserta series, and this archive has never opened them.
  
  A FORCHIA MAN MARRYING AN ARIENZO WOMAN AT ARIENZO — WHICH IS WHAT HIS BROTHER DID FOUR YEARS LATER. Sabbatino married Maria Antonia Carfora at Arienzo in January 1860. Two brothers, two Arienzo brides, four years apart, and the archive found the second first.
  
  THE ACT MARKS CARMINE DEAD AND DOES NOT MARK ROSA CEGLIA. Her death extract — Forchia, Morti 1852, act 4, 4 April 1852 — is filed in Sabbatino's own marriage dossier and is not in doubt. This is a clerk's omission and is recorded as one, not as a contradiction.
  
  His bride's surname wraps and is left unread: «GIACINTA CAI=», thirty-seven, born Arienzo about 1819. This archive holds a GIUSEPPE CAIAZZO married at Arienzo the year before; nothing joins them.
  
  THREE GIACOMO ANNECCHINO NOW STAND IN THIS ARCHIVE — this one of about 1817, and two born at Forchia in 1887 and 1901 to the other Carmine Annecchino. They are named apart for the same reason the two Carmine were.”
