Maria Carfora (1742-1810)d. 1810
marriedNicola Criscid. 15 Nov 1811registerWhat the registers say
- death — 1810 , Arienzo, strada delli Crisci “A CARFORA MARRIED TO A CRISCI — the two surnames that stand either side of this archive's founding couple — living as beggars on the street that carries the Crisci name.
«è morta MARIA CARFORA — d'anni SESSANTOTTO, di professione MENDICA — domiciliante in detta Università, ed abitante nella strada DELLI CRISCI, MOGLIE DI NICOLA CRISCI, di professione MENDICO, domiciliato in questa predetta Comune, strada Crisci».
Sixty-eight in 1810 puts her birth about 1742.
SHE IS NOT THE OTHER MARIA CARFORA OF 1810. The same register holds a second woman of that name, seventy-eight, a contadina of strada Croce dell'Ospedale, widow of Tomaso di Nigro. The ages were read twice for exactly this reason — «sessantotto» here against «settantotto» there — and the streets, trades and husbands differ as well. Two women, one name, one year, one town.
NO KINSHIP TO THIS ARCHIVE'S CRISCI IS CLAIMED. Andreana Crisci and Francesca Crisci married into the Falco; this archive does not know whether the Crisci of strada delli Crisci are their people. [[surname-ligature-test]] applies: the name identifies nobody.”ANTENATI an_ua14312 img30 — READ FROM THE IMAGE
