What the registers say

  • death — 16 Oct 1830 , Arienzo, strada Camellara
“daughter of Matteo Falco and Francesca Crisci — a sister of Pasquale, and therefore of the direct line

The mother's surname passes this archive's own three-way test at magnification — a narrow shoulder where the r belongs, no round o, no double-f ascender: CRISCI, not Cossi and not Cioffi.

The citation pointed at image 36 right, which is COSTANZA MAJONE, sixty, widow of Domenico Papa, dead in the Ospedale di Ave Gratia Plena in September. The act is on IMAGE 37 RIGHT.

And her age moves ten years in thirteen. She is forty-two here and thirty-two in the birth act of her daughter Giovanna in September 1817.”

  • named in a birth act — 20 Dec 1827 , Arienzo, strada Camellara
“«nata da ROSA FALCO sua moglie legittima, di anni QUARANTA, domiciliata collo stesso» — b. c.1787. She died on 16 October 1830 aged forty-two, giving b. c.1788. The two disagree by one year, which for this office is agreement. A daughter of MATTEO FALCO and FRANCESCA CRISCI, named as such in her own death act.”

  • named as living — 23 Sep 1814 , Arienzo
“A FALCO MARRIED TO A MORGILLO — the surname that married into this line twice in the next generation. Angela Rosa Morgillo married Raffaele Falco; Angela Maria Morgillo married Crescenzo Falco, son of Giuseppe Falco and Antonia di Guida.

Neither is claimed as her descendant. She is named without «fu», which this archive has learnt means nothing at all about whether she was alive. [[quondam-not-evidence]]

A ROSA SPOSITO is the mother of Angelo Falco, dead by 1811; this Rosa is a Falco by birth and they are different women.

PUBLISHED IN A SECOND HOUSEHOLD AND MERGED HERE ON 23 SEPTEMBER 2026. This row was written into «Giovan'Antonio Morgillo & Rosa Falco», a household created that night from the 1809 and 1814 registers — while this archive had held the same couple as «Carlantonio Morgillo & Rosa Falco» for days. The evidence published with it said in terms that the husband is one man under three forenames, and it was then filed under one of them without checking the archive for the others. The duplicate-household gate compares NAMES, and «Carlantonio» and «Giovan'Antonio» are not the same string. [[publishing-into-households]]

AND SHE IS NOT AN UNATTACHED FALCO — SHE IS THE FOUNDERS' OWN DAUGHTER. Published on 22–23 September 2026 among six Falco women married into other Arienzo houses, none attachable to this line. She is attachable, and this archive had already attached her: her death act of 16 October 1830, read word for word from the image, makes her «ROSA FALCO, di anni QUARANTADUE, moglie di CARLANTONIO MORGILLO … figlia di MATTEO FALCO Defunto … e di FRANCESCA CRISCI Defunta» — a sister of Pasquale, and of the direct line. So the children found this week — Raffaele in 1809, Amalia dead in 1814, a third in January 1815 — are Matteo Falco's grandchildren, not an unattached Morgillo family. The six are five.”

  • the household's span — 1 Sep 1809 – Jan 1815 , Arienzo, strada Maddalena
“Bearing children on strada Maddalena from 1809 to 1815 at least — Raffaele in September 1809, Amalia dead in September 1814, another child in January 1815 — so born roughly 1780–1790, and married by 1808.

Strada Maddalena is the street of GIUSEPPE DI GUIDA, Antonia di Guida's father, and of MARIA FALCO, widow of Francesco Quotolo. Three Falco-connected households on one street and no document joining any of them.
