Hector Narciso LERENA Bassani

Born 29 October 1886 and registered at Montevideo on 6 November, act N 424, page 14. Son of Alejandro M. Lerena and Julia Bassani, "hijo de los declarantes". HE IS THE EVIDENCE THAT THIS FAMILY WAS IN MONTEVIDEO BEFORE IT WAS IN BUENOS AIRES - the Argentine records for these parents begin with a baptism in 1905, nineteen years later. Appears again in Argentine military records 1911-1936 and in Capital Federal parish records, both attached in the FamilySearch tree to the same man, L8GL-F8B. MERGED 22 SEPTEMBER 2026 WITH THE ROW THAT STOOD HERE AS "Hector LERENA" - an Argentine of Buenos Aires who married AMALIA PACHECO and had a daughter Emilia Cecilia on 20 December 1915. They are one man, and the merge is made on the ACT and not on the tree's attachment. The San Carlos marriage of 25 February 1911 was opened: "hijo legitimo de D. ALEJANDRO MAXIMO [Lerena] ... y de dona JULIA BA[SSANI], natural de Italia ... con dona AMALIA PA[CHECO]". THREE THINGS AGREE AT ONCE - the wife the old row carried, the parents this row carries, and the age. He is "de la Rep. Oriental, de veinte y cuatro" on 25 February 1911, which puts his birth between 26 February 1886 and 25 February 1887 and fits 29 October 1886 exactly. AND IT CORRECTS THE INDEX, WHICH HAS HIM BORN 1887 AT ALMAGRO, BUENOS AIRES. The act says ORIENTAL. The indexer defaulted the birthplace to the event place, which is a thing this collection's index does. His trade on the act is dibujante, draughtsman, and he lived at calle Gurruchaga 1388. HE IS ALSO "hijo LEGITIMO" IN 1911, THOUGH HIS MONTEVIDEO BIRTH ACT OF 1886 RECORDS NO MARRIAGE - his father was a widower and his mother soltera. Either Alejandro and Julia married between 1888 and 1911, or the parish wrote the ordinary word. This archive does not know which, and the marriage of those two has not been found.
