  “«è morta nella sua propria casa MARIANTONIA CIOFFI, di mesi sette, nata in Arienzo, di professione contadina, domiciliata ivi, figlia di FRANCESCO CIOFFI, di professione contadino, domiciliato ivi, e di MARIA FALCO» — atto 54, died 23 October 1828 at twenty-two hours, the act drawn the next day at fourteen before AGOSTINO CIOFFI, secondo eletto — a Cioffi holding municipal office in the comune where this family are labourers. The fifth child of this household to be buried since 1823. READ FROM THE IMAGE 16 Sep 2026: the surname is CIOFFI in all three places. The declarants are GIUSEPPE FALCO, 56, POSSIDENTE of strada Camellara, «PARENTE DELLA DEFUNTA», and — recorded here for the first time — CESARE CIOFFI, 31, contadino of strada Camellara, ALSO «parente della defunta», so born about 1797, the same year as the father Francesco, and very probably his brother. [PERSON NAME CORRECTED 15 Sep 2026: this archive established months ago that the strada Camellara household is CIOFFI, not Cossi, and applied it to the household name only — the children kept the retired spelling and were built as separate people. The act's own wording is quoted above unchanged.]”

Act 28: «L'anno mille ottocento VENTOTTO, il dì OTTO del mese di MARZO, ad ore DICIASSETTE, avanti di noi SAVERIO CIOFFI Sindaco … è comparso FRANCESCO CIOFFI, di anni TRENTA, di professione CONTADINO, domiciliato in questo Comune strada CAMELLARA, quale ci ha presentato una FEMINA … che la stessa è nata da MARIA FALCO sua moglie legittima, di anni TRENTA, domiciliata collo stesso, e da lui dichiarante … nel giorno OTTO del mese di MARZO … alle ore QUINDICI, nella casa sua propria d'abitazione … di dare alla neonata il nome di MARIANTONIA». Baptised at Sant'Andrea Apostolo the same day.
  
  Her death act, already held, says «di mesi SETTE» on 23 October 1828. Born 8 March, she was seven months and fifteen days. The arithmetic is exact, and this household's children are now the best-documented thing about it: it buried six that this archive knows of.
  
  Witnesses NICOLA CIOFFI, twenty-six, sartore, of strada CAMELLARA, and ANDREA DIGLIO, twenty-one, contadino, of strada SAPONARI. A CIOFFI SIGNS AS SINDACO AND A CIOFFI WITNESSES — Saverio Cioffi holds the office, Agostino Cioffi is secondo eletto at her death seven months later, and Cesare Cioffi is called «parente» at two other burials in this family. The name runs from the town hall to the labourers' street.
