  “civil act 47, foglio 149: «è comparso Vincenzo Falco, di anni ventisette, contadino, strada Camellara… è nato nella sua propria casa, da lui dichiarante e da Andreana Crisci sua moglie legittima, d'anni venti, un maschio… a cui si è dato il nome di Raffaele» — born at three in the afternoon
  
  VERIFIED WORD FOR WORD, 20 September 2026, work-list row 58 — act 47, and the clerk wrote the year 1816 and struck it, putting «diciotto» above. «è comparso VINCENZO FALCO, di anni VENTISETTE, di professione contadino, domiciliato in detto comune, strada Camellara … da ANDREANA CRISCI sua moglie legittima, d'anni VENTI».
  
  AND THE TWO AGES CONVICT THE 1816 VOLUME. Twenty-five months earlier, in act 56 of the 1816 register, the same couple are thirty-five and twenty-five. Here they are twenty-seven and twenty. He got eight years younger and she got five, in two years.
  
  And it is the 1816 figures that are wrong. His baptism of 1 February 1792 makes him twenty-four in April 1816 and twenty-six here; her baptism of 30 November 1796 makes her nineteen and twenty-one. The 1818 act is within a year of both parish entries. The 1816 act is eleven years out on him and six on her.”

  “GENERATION FOUR'S BAPTISM, READ FROM THE IMAGE AT LAST — AND IT IS THE SAME DAY AS HIS BIRTH. This archive held it as «baptism · 1818», a year with no day, from a machine transcription. «Anno Dom[ini] 1818, die vero decima 10 Maii, R[everen]dus … Subdiaconus baptizavit infantem natum ex VINCENTIO FALCO, et ANDREANA CRISCI, conjugibus hujus Parochiae, cui imposuit nomen RAPHAEL». His civil birth act gives 10 May 1818 and the parish baptised him the same day — which is what this parish does for a newborn, and it is the second time this archive has seen it in a week.
