Maria Julia Margarita Josefa Emirena Justiniana LERENA Juanico (m. HERRERA)
The only LERENA baptised at Rosario between 1731 and 1901 - and now followed to the end of the story. Born 8 October 1865, baptised at Rosario 17 February 1866 to Don Luis Lerena Lenguas and Dona Julia Juanico, "naturales del E. Oriental". On 3 November 1886, aged 21, she married Don Jaime Herrera at San Francisco de Asis, Ciudad Vieja, MONTEVIDEO - the act naming her parents again, in a second country, twenty years later. She went home. NOT the Maria Lerena who was Pablo Armando's mother: that woman had a son in February 1882, when this one was sixteen and four years from marrying someone else. HER SURNAME IS CORRECTED HERE, 14 September 2026, and an act says so. This register called her LERENA LENGUAS - which is her FATHER'S compound, not hers. Her father was Luis Lerena Lenguas; her mother was Julia Juanico; so she is LERENA JUANICO, exactly as her siblings Ema Sixta and Candido Jaime are already named on their own rows here. She was the odd one out and nothing had caught it. THE EVIDENCE IS THE ACT READ TODAY: at her sister Ema Sixta's wedding on 30 June 1913 the witnesses are written "Don Jaime Herrera y Dona Maria Perena Juanico de Herrera" - her own compound, in her own lifetime, with PERENA the machine's usual mangling of LERENA on this family. IT ALSO MATTERED FOR THE CHECKING: the compound-surname sibling test keys on the two surnames in a row's name, so while she read LERENA LENGUAS she was being grouped with her father's generation instead of with her own brothers and sisters. READ OFF THE PLATE 21 September 2026, and the citation on this row needed explaining rather than correcting. Film 007713384 image 00700, folio 492, act No. 90 of the Union marriage register: 'MASSERA, Jose Pedro = con = EMMA SIXTA LERENA. El TREINTA DE JUNIO de mil novecientos TRECE ... el Presbitero Monsenor Don EUSEBIO DE LEON, con licencia del ... Iglesia Metropolitana ...' SO ACT 90 IS HER SISTER'S WEDDING, NOT HERS - which this register knew, because Ema Sixta's own row carries the same act. This row cites it because she is IN it. THE PLATE CONFIRMS IT AND CONFIRMS HER MARRIED NAME: 'Don LUIS LERENA ... FUERON TESTIGOS, do[na] ... JUANICO DE HERRERA' - she signs as a Herrera wife, which is the only thing on any plate read here that supports the '(m. HERRERA)' in her own row's title. A CITATION THAT LOOKS WRONG AND IS NOT: the act number belongs to her sister and the row is right to name it, because a witness clause is where a married woman's surname gets written down.
