• Queensland civil registration — births, deaths and marriages, from 1856.
• New South Wales civil registration and parish registers — including St James's, Sydney, where George Lindsay D'Arcy was christened on 5 November 1829.
• Australian newspapers (Trove) — death and funeral notices, and the Brisbane press.
• Queensland State Archives, series S36 — Coronial Files. Item ITM2736504, digital representation DR103140: the 1902 magisterial inquiry into the death of William Hartley Sneyd. Eighteen images, no text layer, read and transcribed in full from the originals on 9 September 2026. It supplies four sworn depositions, a post-mortem certificate and a Government Analyst's certificate, and it is the only record in this archive in which a member of the family speaks about another under oath. • National Archives of Australia, series B2455 — First World War service dossiers. The thirty-page digitised dossier of Private Arthur Hartley Sneyd, 5050 (item 8088453) has been read in full: attestation, physical description, statement of service, the Army Form B.2090A report of death, and the Kit Store inventory of his effects.   The dossier of L/Cpl Vivian Claude Sneyd, 1696 (item 8087524, 21 pages) has been partly read — the Service and Casualty Form and the Statement of Service. A third, Pte Ernest Vivian William Sneyd, 3891 (item 8087517), was located this session and has not been opened.
  For Sergeant Lindesay Atkinson D'Arcy, 11335, no B2455 item could be found under either spelling of his name. An earlier version of this page said a fourteen-page dossier "is known to exist"; that was an overclaim and is withdrawn. What the search did find is NAA: J34, C34558 — a Repatriation Commission pension case file, 1937–38, with his widow as beneficiary. Not digitised, and not yet read.
• Australian War Memorial, AWM 28 — recommendation files for honours and awards, A.I.F. The recommendation for the Bar to the Military Medal for 1696 L/Cpl Vivian Claud Sneyd, 3rd Australian Field Ambulance, dated 12 October 1917, endorsed "Awarded" and signed by Lieut-Col. A. Graham Butler — read and transcribed in full. The citation →
• Australian Red Cross Society Wounded and Missing Enquiry Bureau files, 1914–18 War (AWM 1DRL/0428) — the twenty-three-page file for 5050 Private Arthur Hartley Sneyd, 9th Battalion, read in full. Six statements taken from men in the hospitals and base depots of France, and two letters from the friend who kept looking for him for thirteen months. The AWM 131 Roll of Honour index card for Sneyd has been read. The Roll of Honour circular — the form his family filled in by hand — survives and has still not been read directly; one phrase from it reaches this archive at second hand, through the AIF Project's transcription, and is quoted as such: that he "gave up this rank in Egypt in order to get across to France". second-hand
  AWM's own collection search returned nothing for any query on 9 September 2026 — the Memorial is migrating its Units, Places, Library, People and Rolls records. The documents were reached by direct URL instead.

• Ireland, Births and Baptisms, 1620–1881 (index, via FamilySearch) — the christening of Paul Cole Atkinson at Limerick on 9 July 1832, naming Richard Atkinson and Anne. Roots Ireland itself has not been searched; it needs a paid account, and a request is drafted.
• Caribbean Birth & Baptism Index 1590–1928 — the christening of Constantine Darcy at St Michael, Barbados, 18 February 1786, naming Robert Darcy and Jane.
• Connolly and Edwards, Roll of Officers of the Corps of Royal Engineers, 1660–1898 (R.E. Institute, Chatham, 1898) — entries 203 and 335, for Robert and Constantine D'Arcy. Searched in full via the Internet Archive scan.
• Kent Burials and Hampshire Marriages (FindMyPast) — the burial of Robert D'Arcy at St Mary, Chatham, 19 May 1827, and his marriage to Jean Ward at Portsea St Mary, 21 June 1779.
