What the registers say

  • marriage — 6 Sep 1829 , Arienzo
“HALF OF THE «TWO DAUGHTERS» QUESTION, ANSWERED. «10. CRISCI ANIELLO | Arienzo | CRISCI CRESCENZO, e QUOTOLO ANGELA» ed «FALCO GIOVANNA | Arienzo | FALCO GIUSEPPE, e GUIDA ANTONIA | A 6 7bre 1829». Baptised 1805, so she married at TWENTY-FOUR. The month glyph was settled against the «10 Xbre 1829» two rows below, whose X is unmistakable and quite unlike this 7. SHE DID NOT DIE YOUNG AND SHE DID NOT LEAVE: she married into the CRISCI, the family that is already the Falco's nearest neighbour on strada Camellara and already their in-laws once, through her cousin Anna Falco in 1818”

This parish repeats its names relentlessly — there are three Maria Falco and four Pasquale. These are different people, kept apart on purpose rather than merged into one.
