  SPOSITO IS A SURNAME THIS ARCHIVE ALREADY CARRIES, AND CARRIES CAREFULLY. It holds a VINCENZA SPOSITO, recorded under both spellings because the registers write her as Sposito and as Esposito; and the same 1811 volume gives a MARIA SPOSITO, wife of Giuseppe Verdicchio, living on strada Camellara. Esposito is also the surname Neapolitan clerks gave foundlings, which makes it the least identifying name in these registers. No connection between any of them is claimed.”
