A THIRD CHILD OF JUSTA PASTORA AND MANUEL ZEFERINO BARROS, found 21 September 2026 - and found only because the index date was impossible. FamilySearch indexes his christening as 19 April 1726, which is the first year of the collection and not a date; the same artefact put his cousin Carlos Ambrosio Florencio in 1726 earlier the same day. THE PLATE GIVES THE REAL YEAR: 'El dia DIEZ Y NUEVE DE ABRIL del ano de mil ochocientos t[reinta y cinco], yo Don FRANCISCO LARROBLA, Cura y Vicario de esta Parroquia de los Canelones, bautice solemnemente a un parvulo ... por nombre HILARIO, hijo legitimo de MAN[uel Zeferino Barros] natural de PERNAMBUCO, y de JUSTA LLERENA ... padrinos PEDRO ANTONIO LLERENA y VICENTA VEGA.' SO PEDRO ANTONIO AND VICENTA VEGA STOOD AT A SECOND NEPHEW'S FONT. They are the godparents at the Aguada in 1852 for Avelino's son as well - two acts, seventeen years apart, the same couple standing for two different brothers' and sisters' children. THE BIRTH DATE IS NOT SETTLED AND THE COLUMN CARRIES ONLY THE YEAR. The index says 16 March 1835. The act's own phrase runs 'nacido a los ...' and this archive cannot read the word that follows at the resolution available; it appears to end 'del mismo', which would put the birth in APRIL and not March. Read at four times magnification before being left unresolved. A further reason for caution: 16 MARCH has now appeared as an indexed birth for three children of this family - Pedro Alberto Ysabelino 1852 and Andres 1857, both confirmed on their plates, and this one, which is not.
