Married Alfredo Lerena Traibel at the Catedral Basilica de Montevideo, 3 February 1892, aged thirty. Daughter of Don Geronimo GAVAZZO and Dona Carolina SUAREZ - so the plate, read 21 September 2026; this row said "Gavarro" and "Juarez" until then, on a machine transcript. She and her husband were COUSINS - the act dispenses an impediment of the third degree of consanguinity with atingencia to the second. THE SURNAME IS CORRECTED OFF THE IMAGE, 21 September 2026. This archive held it from a MACHINE FULL-TEXT TRANSCRIPT of the 1892 marriage act and never opened the page. The page was opened - film 007713383 image 02601, folio 340 - and the act reads 'hija legitima de Don GERONIMO GAVAZZO y Dona CAROLINA SUAREZ'. GAVAZZO, not "Gavarro"; SUAREZ, not "Juarez". It is corroborated independently by Hermenegilda's own Montevideo death registration of 20 June 1940, certificate 632, read off film 008166249 image 01900, which writes her HERMENEGILDA GAVAZZO DE LERENA and her parents Geronimo Gavazzo and Carolina Suarez. Two images, forty-eight years apart, against one machine transcript. AND SHE HAS A DEATH, found the same day: 20 JUNE 1940, at MONTEVIDEO. The act says she died at R. Masini 3273, 'de estado VIUDA', 'a consecuencia de FRACTURA DEL CUELLO DEL FEMUR' - a broken hip, which for a woman of about seventy-eight in 1940 is usually the end. Certificate 632, registered by Jose M. Reyes Corvalan. SO ALFREDO JUSTINIANO DIED BEFORE 20 JUNE 1940, which is the first thing this archive has ever known about the end of his life. She was a widow, and the marriage had lasted at least into its fifth decade.
