Juan Carlos GONZALEZ LERENA (m. 1920s, Montevideo)

CHECKED AND EXCLUDED, 15 September 2026 - he is the only 'Juan Carlos Lerena' in FamilySearch's entire full-text corpus apart from a 2001 death record. The Vicar General "dispenso a Don Juan Carlos Gonzalez Lerena las tres conciliares proclamas en el matrimonio que intenta contraer con ... Concepcion Petrona Urbano". LERENA IS HIS SECOND SURNAME - his mother's - not his father's. That is the same shape as the only Juan Carlos Lerena in all of Geneanet, a "del Campo Lerena". Pablo Armando's father must carry LERENA as the PATERNAL surname and must have been born by about the 1850s to father a son in 1882. This man is marrying in the 1920s. Recorded so that the next reader who runs this search does not have to spend an hour excluding him. READ OFF THE PLATE 21 September 2026, AND THE COMPOUND SURNAME IS REALLY THERE. So the date is 8 NOVEMBER 1922, not merely 'the 1920s', and the register of Montevideo dispensations numbers it 14610. THE BRIDE'S NAME IS ONLY PARTLY LEGIBLE and is not written down here as a reading: the words run '...cepcion Petrona' and then a surname this archive cannot settle between URBANO and a similar hand. IT IS NOT GUESSED. WHY THIS MAN IS IN THIS REGISTER AT ALL: he is a JUAN CARLOS, which is the forename this whole archive turns on - Pablo Armando's father is named Juan Carlos Lerena on the 1908 enrolment card. THIS IS NOT HIM AND WAS NEVER CLAIMED TO BE: this man carries GONZALEZ as his paternal surname and LERENA as his mother's, and he is marrying at Montevideo in 1922, forty years after Pablo Armando was born at Rosario. He is kept because a Juan Carlos with LERENA anywhere in his name is worth being able to rule out on the record rather than meeting again in five years' time.

Checked and ruled out. This person carries the surname but has been shown not to belong to this family. They are kept here rather than deleted, because knowing which candidates were eliminated — and why — is worth as much as knowing which survived.
