Justo LERENA (of the Cordon)
A LERENA FATHER THIS ARCHIVE HAD NEVER MET, found 20 September 2026. Named on the burial act of his daughter Carmen at the Cementerio del Cordon on 14 August 1841: "hija legitima de Justo Lerena y de Juana Quinta[na]", read off the image. So he was a married man with a three-year-old in Montevideo in 1841, which puts his own birth somewhere around 1810 or earlier. NOTHING TIES HIM TO SANCHO. Sancho had a daughter JUSTA born about 1802 and the forename echoes; that is an echo and not an argument. The 1812 padron lists six children and no Justo, but the published child lists for that couple are demonstrably incomplete - the prose claims eight and names seven, and omits Dominga, whom a census and an act both attest - so he can be neither placed nor excluded. He was found by a search for something else entirely: a sweep of Uruguayan deaths 1815-1840 looking for Fidel.
No record here names a parent, spouse, child or sibling for this person. This archive calls that unplaced: held, named, shown with the record that produced them, and not tied to a household on anything less.
