She was born in the same month the padron was taken that counted four enslaved people in that house and named none of them. Nothing is known of what became of her. The act IMMEDIATELY BEFORE hers, on the same opening, baptises ANOTHER MARIA MERCEDES on 25 September 1812 - 'hija de TERESA ABELLEYRA, negra esclava de D.n RAMON ABELLEYRA'. Two enslaved girls of the same name, in two households, on consecutive days, on one page. This register also holds a TERESA enslaved in Sancho's household, from the padron - a different woman, from a different document, and the two must not be run together.
