Maria Carlota MORATORIO Lerena
Daughter of Fernando Moratorio and Josefa Lerena Traibel, baptised at the Catedral Basilica de Montevideo on 8 March 1880 with her sister. "PROBABLY TWINS" IS AN UNTESTED INFERENCE AND IS FLAGGED AS ONE, 20 September 2026. It rests on nothing but a shared baptism date, and that reasoning was disproved elsewhere in this family on the same day: Ana Rosario and Alfredo Justiniano Lerena Traibel were baptised together at San Francisco de Asis in 1858 and were born twenty-one months apart. The test is cheap and unrun: the full-text transcript of these two acts should state each girl's own birth date, as the 1858 pair do. A granddaughter of Avelino Lerena. READ OFF THE PLATE 21 September 2026, where this row had rested on a MACHINE TRANSCRIPT. Film 007713378 image 02598, folios 411-412, Catedral Basilica de Montevideo - the two baptisms of 8 March 1880. Priest RAFAEL YEREGUI. THE TEST THIS ROW NAMED AS CHEAP AND UNRUN HAS BEEN RUN, AND 'PROBABLY TWINS' IS CONFIRMED. The act states her own birth: 'que nacio el VEINTE Y CUATRO DE FEBRERO ultimo'. Her sister's act, on the facing folio, states the same day. THEY ARE TWINS, born 24 FEBRUARY 1880 and carried to the font twelve days later. Her godparents were FRANCISCO AZANOLA and MANUELA OTONDO - not, as this archive half-assumed, the same pair as her sister's. The act also gives the paternal grandparents FERNANDO and NICOLASA TORRES and the maternal AVELINO and AMBROSIA TRAIBEL, and calls the parents 'orientales'. AND THE PARISH WAS WRONG, CORRECTED 21 September 2026 OFF THE PLATE. This archive placed these 1880 baptisms at the UNION, which is what the index's place field says. The act itself reads 'con licencia del infrascripto Cura Parroco DE ESTA BASILICA MENOR Y CATEDRAL DE MONTEVIDEO, bautice solemnemente EN ELLA a Maria Carlota'. They were baptised in the CATEDRAL BASILICA, not at the Union.
