| The record says | Family lore: a singer at the Hotel Therapia, Crikvenica |
Remembered in the family and written down in September 2026. Nothing corroborates it, and nothing contradicts it — the tree simply says nothing about her working life at all. The venue is real and datable: the Therapia opened at Crikvenica in 1895 as the Nadvojvoda Josip, was renamed in 1899 when a hydropathic institute was put inside it, and with the Miramare of 1906 is the building that made Crikvenica a health resort. It still stands, renamed Kvarner Palace after an Austrian hotelier bought it in 2013. Read it →
When she left Croatia
| The tree says | Immigration to South Africa, April 1975, from Zimbabwe |
|---|---|
| The record says | Family lore says 1948 — which the record will not allow |
Her second and third children were born at Senj in December 1951 and April 1953, so the family was in Croatia at least five years after 1948. What 1948 is in this family is the birth of Ladislava at Crikvenica on 5 March. The crossing therefore happened after April 1953 and before about 1973, and this archive holds nothing at all from inside that span. Read it →

The mark describes the person, not the link. Of the 8 relatives drawn here, 6 have a document of their own in this archive — but that is not the same as a document tying them to this person. This archive holds no separate proof for most parent–child links; where it does, the note above this chart says so in words. 2relatives are named in the tree but fall outside the eight surnames and have no page.4are judged living and withheld from this build entirely.
Where this comes from
this archive has shown something recorded about them to be wrong.
6 images are attached to this person , of which 1 are documents rather than photographs.
2 corrections and notes have been recorded against this page — set out above, and listed on What changed.
Where this sits on the line
Ahnentafel 1 — generation 1 of Hedviga's descent. Every person's father is twice their own number and their mother twice plus one, so this person's parents are 2 and 3.
The register spells this surname more than one way, and the search folds the forms together — so Xubrinich and Žubrinić, Joannis and Ivan, find each other.
