Her baptismal entry is real and hers: Otočac 1835, entry 41, daughter of Marcus Orešković adoptatus Sekula and Lucia née Sekula of Dubrava 29. The transcription is right and the attachment is wrong. The Otočac register of 24 January 1834 enters Nicolaus as the legitimate son of Michaël Xubrinich and Maria uxor ejus nata Oreskovich — a married woman bearing a legitimate child, nineteen months before Maria Catharina was born. Her own 1835 baptism names the same parents the tree gives her and places her at Dubrava N° 29, so she is a real person married here to the wrong man. The join is kept and marked rather than severed, because a wrong join is itself a finding and the only pointer to where the right Maria Orešković should be looked for. Read it →
