Annecchino
Now the largest surname in this archive, ahead of Falco itself — and on 10 September 2026 it gave up the name of Filomena's mother.
This page exists because its absence was noticed. The archive had been built outward from the Falco name, and the families that married into it were treated as context rather than as families. Annecchino is the plainest case: it had 734 records — more than any surname here except Falco — belonging to the woman who is generation seven's wife, and no page, no entry in the names table, and no account of where it comes from. Going after it properly added 359 more, and made it the largest surname in the archive.
Filomena Annecchino, and how the line runs through her
Filomena Annecchino — born 10 April 1897 — married Carminantonio Falco , born at Arienzo on 11 January 1901. She is not an in-law of this family. She is half of generation seven, and every Falco of the Brisbane generations descends from her as much as from him.

Two children buried at Forchia, a year apart, before the crossing. Aniello in August 1937 and Maria Annunziata in July 1938. The family left for Australia after that. It is stated here because a line of descent that only records the survivors is not a record of a family — and because both deaths are indexed under her name, not his.
Her mother — a name at last, and what it rests on
Until 10 September 2026 this section said «her mother has no name». The family tree carried her only as «Unknown Annecchino». A harvest of the Benevento civil registration through FamilySearch has now produced a candidate, and it is set out here with its reasoning so that a reader can weigh it rather than take it.
Filomena Annecchino was very probably the daughter of CARMINE ANNECCHINO and MARIA CARFORA, of Forchia.

Why it holds
- The father's name matches. The tree gives Filomena's father as Carmine Annecchino .
- The brother's name matches, exactly. The tree gives her brother as Giacomo Annecchino — and this household has two sons of that name, in 1887 and again in 1901.
- The town matches. Forchia is where Filomena's own two children died in 1937 and 1938.
- The date fits the gap. 10 April 1897 sits between Alfonso Carmine (July 1894) and the second Giacomo (February 1901) — squarely inside a childbearing span that runs 1883 to 1901.
Why it is not yet proof
- No record found names Filomena's mother. This is an argument from a household and a gap, not a document.
- There is at least one other Carmine Annecchino at Forchia, married to Giovanna Crisci , with children indexed in 1878 and 1880. He may be a different man — or the same man, widowed and remarried about 1882, which would make Filomena's half-siblings older than the household above. The archive does not choose.
- This household lost children and reused their names three times — two Agata, two Alfonso, two Giacomo. Where names repeat that freely, an identification made on a forename needs a document behind it.
Why her birth act could not be found — the hole is in the harvest
The reason this took so long is worth publishing, because it tells the next reader exactly where to go. Filomena's birth year is missing from both indexes this archive can reach.

Forchia's births run 1861 to 1894 and then jump to 1901. FamilySearch's Benevento index has the same shape — the Carfora household's own Forchia births stop in 1894 and resume in 1901. So the absence of a 1897 act proves nothing at all: nobody has indexed the year. The Forchia birth register for 1897 exists on Antenati as images. It has to be read by eye, the way the Arienzo death registers were.
The Annecchino of the Valle Caudina
The surname belongs to a tight cluster of towns at the head of the valley. Of the 1092 records — 359 of them added on 10 September 2026 from the Benevento civil registration — the ones that carry a place divide like this:
Moiano, not Forchia, is the centre of gravity — 193 records against 79 — which is worth saying because this archive had assumed Forchia, the town the family actually married out of. The records run from 1810 to 1942: 519 births, 147 deaths, 44 marriages.

These come from FamilySearch's Forchia registers and are the only Annecchino households the archive can currently put on the ground. None of them has been joined to Filomena — the link would need her birth act or her marriage act.

Carfora appears twice as an Annecchino wife, and Crisci once — and Crisci is one of the Arienzo names that married into the Falco repeatedly. Two Carmine Annecchino with different wives are kept apart here rather than merged: this archive has been burned by that before, and the rule is set out under Method.

Read this carefully rather than excitedly. These are the commonest surnames of a small group of neighbouring towns, and a family marrying them is a family marrying its neighbours. It is a pattern of regional endogamy, not evidence of a connection to the Falco. It is set out because it shows the world these people actually lived in — and because the same five names keep arriving from every direction.
What would move this line
- The FORCHIA BIRTH REGISTER FOR 1897, read by eye. This is now the single most valuable unread document for this family. It is on Antenati as images, it is indexed by nobody, and it would confirm or destroy the Maria Carfora identification in one line.
- Her marriage to Carminantonio Falco. A Neapolitan marriage act names both fathers. One document would join this line to the Falco spine in print.
- The Moiano registers. 193 Annecchino records point there and this archive has read none of them act by act, the way it has read Arienzo.

The 359 from the Benevento civil registration were harvested on 10 September 2026 and carry a citable collection but no per-record link — they are evidence with a source, not one-click documents. A further 603 rows returned by that search were discarded: FamilySearch's matching had fuzzed Annecchino into Zacchino, Bollecchino, Trabacchino and Lupacchino, and letting them in would have polluted the archive with three hundred people of another name.
