The Tree
The whole documented line in one figure — each generation, who they married, which child carried the line, and every sibling the archive can name beside them.
The spine runs straight down the middle. Beside each generation is the person they married; beneath, the child who carried the line is marked, and every other child the archive can name stands next to them — because most of them died small, and a tree that shows only the survivors is a lie about what these households were.
Every name links to its own page. The direct line argues each generation act by act; this page is the shape of it.
What this figure does not show. It draws the nine generations of the spine and their children. It does not draw the 505 other people the archive can name — the wider Arienzo of Cioffi, Morgillo, Martone and Giglio who fill the people pages, or the fifty-three reconstructed households. A spine is not a family.
