The actual working notes — one file per register volume, written while reading and never tidied afterwards. This page indexes them; the files themselves are public.
These are not write-ups. They are the working notes, kept act by act while reading, with the wrong readings still in them and the corrections written underneath rather than over the top. They are the reason anything on this site can be checked.

Why the failures are left in. The notes carry every misreading this archive made, with the correction written underneath — a woman read twice as «Maria Carfora» who was twice somebody else, an age that would have been the most spectacular in the archive and was my own eye, a date of 29 February in a year that had none.
