What the archive knows

Died 15 December 1830 aged eleven, of scarlatina, at house 456, «senza assistenza spirituale per la malattia repentina». Eldest child of Pietro De Franceschi q.m Pietro and Maddalena Francin di Giovanni.

«Pietro De Franceschi q.m Gio. Maria», aged 42 in March 1818; widower of Veniera Franzin, remarried Lorenza Tesser 30 March 1818, house 312; his son Gio: Maria married Lucia Bonassin on 9 June 1821

«Pietro De Franceschi di Gio., da Dignano — Tessitore», a weaver, witness at a marriage held in Šišan on 30 January 1824; named as of Vodnjan because he was standing outside it; witnessed again at Vodnjan itself on 23 September 1828, where the clerk drops the town-name — so a resident, not a visitor; and a third time on 22 February 1830

«il fu Pietro De Franceschi q.m Dom.co», husband of Domenica Manzin q.m Domenico; dead by November 1823, when his daughter Bonetta married at twenty-three

«Pietro De Franceschi q.m Pietro, agricoltore» — witness 28 February 1824, house 764; on the dates, very likely Bonetta's brother

Named only in his son's patronymic — «Gio. Maria De Franceschi fu Pietro», 1830 — and so the earliest man in the Vodnjan line, standing behind a marriage of the 1770s

Named only in his children's patronymics — «Giuseppe De Franceschi q.m Pietro» and «Lucia De Franceschi q.m Pietro», both dead in 1830 at 72 and 70. On their ages he was born around 1730 and is the earliest man in Giuseppe's line

Son of Domenico De Franceschi q.m Pietro and Zacchera Cerlon di Francesco; died 23 July 1829 at house 48, Vodnjan

Son of Stefano De Franceschi and Maria Forlanichio, baptised 12 September 1860.

Son of Domenico De Franceschi and Mattea Delcarro, baptised 4 April 1858.

Identity here is by name, not by resolved individual. Where two people of one name appear in this archive they share this page, and it is for the reader to keep them apart — the surrounding text usually makes it obvious. Nothing here is new evidence; it is the same evidence, brought together.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. **Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual**: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
