- FamilySearch, Croatia Church Books 1516-1994, Brinje Matična knjiga rođenih 1893-1897 (DGS 005498262, waypoint 9R26-82S), image 224 (right-hand page, second entry; page 51), entry no. 102 - "JAVOR IVAN", male, born 21 and registered 23 September 1893, of Brinje house 83, son of JAVOR IVAN, a "mežnjar" (as read: a sexton), and BORIĆ ANE, farmer, both of Brinje, Croats. Informants "Rubelli Lavoslav, Bosnić Ane" (Rubelli is the officiating priest of these pages). WHY THIS MATTERS: the father's occupation as read, sexton, is a likely reason why "Javor Ivan i Ane" stand as informants at so many unrelated births in this book - he is the church's man at the baptisms. That would make their presence weak evidence of kinship with the families they stand for, and it is a reading of one word, not proved.
