Witnesses "MATTHAEUS KOSINAR" and "Simon Rauth", Bauern, Matthaeus signing with a cross; married by "Matthaeus Lauts, coop.", Pfarrer St. Martin. SO HE WAS BORN ABOUT 1776 and she about 1780. Named again as "Franz Kosinar, Hueblar" at his daughter GERTRAUD's baptism, 18 March 1814 at HOUSE 10 (sig. 00885 image 15), and as "Franz Kosinar, Haeusler" in the Aeltern des Braeutigams column at his son JOHANN's marriage of 6 January 1833 (sig. 00899 image 37). He is Martin Kozina's grandfather, four generations above Hedviga. HIS OWN BAPTISM WAS LOOKED FOR ON 27 SEPTEMBER 2026 AND IS NOT IN THE INDEX. The baptismal index for 1603-1779 (sig. 04.. 00872, 146 images) is arranged by initial letter and then CHRONOLOGICALLY, giving surname, given name, the FATHER in brackets and a date - and no page number, so it finds a date and not a page. The K section runs to about image 72, where it ends at 1779. Images 71 and 72 were read in full at 3.2x and cover 1772 to 1779 without a gap. THERE IS NO FRANZ KOSINAR OR KOSINA IN 1774, 1775, 1776 OR 1777 - the window his two independent ages require (24 at his marriage in October 1800, 73 at his death in January 1849, both giving 1775-76). THAT IS NOT A CONCLUSION AND THIS ARCHIVE HAS BEEN BURNED BY TREATING IT AS ONE. An index proves what it contains and never what it omits, and this parish’s own death index for 1836-1869 missed NINE Kozina. The register itself (sig. 00883, 363 images) has NOT been walked for those four years, and until it is, "not in the index" is all this says. THE OTHER READING is that he was baptised in another parish and married in, which the 1800 marriage does not say either way. HIS DEATH, read 22 September 2026: Mrliska knjiga Kranj-Smartin 1836-1869 book p.61 - "22. - 24. [Jaenner 1849] · Ob. Feichtg · 9 · FRANZ KOSINA, Ausnehmer · katholisch · maennlich · ALTER 73 · Lungenentzuendung · versehen". DIED 22 JANUARY 1849, BURIED 24 JANUARY, AGED 73 - which puts his birth at 1775-76 and CONFIRMS the age of 24 he gave at his marriage, from a second and independent record. He is an AUSNEHMER, a retired householder living on the Ausnahm, and he died at OBERFEICHTING No. 9. CORRECTED 22 September 2026: this row said he had 'retired into his son's house'. HOUSE 9 WAS HIS OWN. His son Valentin was baptised there on 15 February 1820 with Franz entered HAUBLER, the man of the house (sig. 00885 image 55), and Elisabeth was baptised at house 9 in 1812. He held 9, his son Johann was keeping it by 1833, his grandson MARTIN WAS BORN IN IT in 1841, and he died in it as an Ausnehmer in 1849. He did not move in with his son; he handed the house over and stayed in it. The family were at house 10 in 1814-15 and at 9 before and after, so the two numbers are a move and not two households.
