Read out of a register, and not in the family tree
Franziska Kozina
Baptism and death, baptised 19 September 1853, died 7 March 1864, Oberfeichting (Zgornje Bitnje) 9, župnija Kranj-Šmartin — DAUGHTER of Johann Kozina and Ursula Sedej - the archive had recorded her as a boy.
The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other
person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists
because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than
put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it.

- Citation
- BAPTISM, read 27 September 2026 on this row’s own instruction: Krstna knjiga Kranj-Šmartin 1832-1870 book p.130 - "September 19. · Obr. Feichting · 9 · FRANCISCA · katholisch · ehelich · Vater: JOHANN KOZINA, Hüblar · Mutter: URSULA SEDEJ · Paten Johann Pevc and Marina Dolenc". THE SEX COLUMN, WHICH IS WHAT THIS ROW WAS OPENED FOR: the stroke stands in MÄDCHEN and the Knaben cell holds a dot. Read at 8x, and then checked a second way - the tick column was cropped from the printed heading down to her line and counted against all sixteen entries of the page, so the mark is placed by the column it sits under and not by eye. SHE IS A GIRL. DEATH: Mrliška knjiga 1836-1869 book p.140 - "1864, März · 7. gestorben, 9. begraben · OBERNFEICHTING · 9 · FRANZISKA KOZINA, Hüblersdochter · katholisch · weiblich · ALTER 11 Jahre · MASERN · A. Graf". Baptised 19 September 1853 and dead on 7 March 1864 is ten years and five months; the clerk’s 11 rounds up by seven, which is the ordinary slack of that column. THE CORRECTION: this archive recorded Johann’s child of 1853 as FRANZ, a son, and then asked whether the girl dying of measles in that house was a second child or the same one misread. She is the same one. There is no Franz. The index (sig. 04632, entry 213) writes the given name short and it can be read either way; the register writes FRANCISCA in full and ticks Mädchen. The death register had her right for eleven years before the baptismal register was asked. Her parents are named here for the first time - the death book named none.
