Gertraud "Gertruda" Kosina

Baptism, 18 March 1814, župnija Kranj-Šmartin, house 10 — MOTHER OF MARTIN KOZINA - not in the tree at all.

The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it. Citation
Krstna knjiga Kranj-Šmartin 1812-1831, book p.28 - "den 18. Merz, Haus 10, Gertrud, ehelich, Vater: FRANZ KOSINAR, Hueblar, Mutter: MARIA DO[M]SHAN". She was 27 when she bore Martin. HER BROTHER IS JOHANN: his marriage of 6 January 1833 gives his father as "Franz Kosinar, Haeusler" and his mother as "Mina Tom[sh]shan, Haeuslerin" - the same couple. RETRACTION: on 21 September 2026 this entry was ELIMINATED here on the grounds that the surname "ends in a clear -r, so it is KOSNAR not Kosina". That was wrong. The -r is how THIS clerk writes the family name, and he writes it identically for Johann, whose own children are entered KOSINA by the next clerk. One family, two hands. HER DEATH, read 22 September 2026: Mrliska knjiga Kranj-Smartin 1870-1890, book p.69 - "5. - 7. [Marec 1880] · Zg. Bitno · 9 · JERA KOZINA, neomozena gostja · katolik · zenski · ALTER 65 let · bozjast in jetika · M. Zarnik". DIED 5 MARCH 1880, BURIED 7 MARCH, AGED 65, UNMARRIED, AT ZGORNJE BITNO 9 - THE HOUSE SHE BORE MARTIN IN. JERA is the Slovene short form of GERTRUDA. Baptised 18 March 1814, she died THIRTEEN DAYS SHORT OF HER SIXTY-SIXTH BIRTHDAY, so the clerk's 65 is exact. NEOMOZENA - never married, which is what the unehelich on Martin's baptism already said. GOSTJA - a lodger, the word for a woman living in a house that is not hers, in the house her brother Johann held. The cause is "bozjast in jetika": the falling sickness and consumption. RETRACTION, THE SAME DAY: this row said for two hours that SHE LEFT THE PARISH, on the grounds that her son's Senj marriage of January 1888 carries no dagger against her name. She had been dead eight years. An absent mark is not a record. Found by reading the 1870-1890 register opening by opening after the 1890-1911 one had given nothing.
