Witnesses read "Kalanj Juraj" (a namesake of the groom: a kinsman, not the groom) and Rumenović Tomo; the clerk is Kanotti Rafael. NOT IN THE TREE. THIS IS THE DOCUMENT THAT SETTLES THE 'KALAUJ' HOUSEHOLD OF HOUSE 231: the father is Jure/Juraj, the mother Manole Vučetić (written Ove, Ive or Manole in the later baptisms), and his own father is VID Kalanj (the name Viol/Vid recurs among the Kalanj men of Brinje, e.g. Viol Kalanj of house 188 in 1896-99, but no document ties this Vid to him). He is NOT the Niko Kalanj of house 231 whose marriage to a widow Marija (Vučić/Vučetić) is dated 1890 (image 530, this file): that Niko is the son of Juro and Ana. Whether Niko and Jure of house 231 are brothers, or a father's and a son's households sharing a house number, is not established; nothing is merged.
