Read out of a register, and not in the family tree

Kate Borić, witness at Brinje house 85

Birth of a child, 15 December 1893, Brinje, Croatia — mother of Javor Anica (the first pass read the name as Frica), of Brinje, and also named as an informant - not in the tree.

The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it. Citation
FamilySearch, Croatia Church Books 1516-1994, Brinje Matična knjiga rođenih 1893-1897 (DGS 005498262, waypoint 9R26-82S), image 239, entry no. 159 - the baptism of "JAVOR FRICA", female, of Brinje house 85, daughter of Javor Ivan and Đorić Kate, names "BORIĆ KATE" as a witness alongside Jelačić Stjepan. NOT IN THE TREE. A witness only, no house number of her own given. Kept separate from the other women named Kate Borić already in this file; nothing ties them together. CORRECTED 5 OCTOBER 2026 ON THE READABLE-ZOOM RE-READ: this row was filed as a mere witness dated 24 December 1893. At close zoom (image 239, left-hand page, first entry; page 80) the child JAVOR ANICA (as read) was born 14 and registered 15 December 1893, and the MOTHER'S column reads BORIĆ KATE (the first pass read the surname as Đorić; the first letter is the same loop as in the informant line "Jelačić Stjepan i Borić Kate" on the same entry, so Borić is the better reading, with Đ not excluded). The father is JAVOR IVAN. THE HOUSE IS NOT SETTLED (85, 88 or 82 - the digits are hard to separate) and a Javor Ivan x BORIĆ ANE household is recorded at house 83 with a son born 21 September 1893 (image 224, this file): a second child three months later cannot be the same wife, so either there are two Javor Ivan households with a Borić wife, or the mother's given name is misread in one of the two entries. Not merged; the question is left open.
