Read out of a register, and not in the family tree

Kate Hofjevac, wife of Jure Hofjevac (house 165, 1896)

Birth of a child, 24 November 1896, Brinje, Croatia — mother of Hofjevac Bare, of Brinje house 165 - the mother's own surname is entered as HOFJEVAC, which is the husband's, so this may be the Perković wife of Jure Hofjevac of earlier entries (Marko 1892, Manole 1894, Luka August 1896, this file) entered by her married name - not in the tree.

The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it. Citation
FamilySearch, Croatia Church Books 1516-1994, Brinje Matična knjiga rođenih 1893-1897 (DGS 005498262, waypoint 9R26-82S), image 360 (left-hand page, first entry; page 322), entry no. 146 - "HOFJEVAC BARE", female, born 24 and registered 26 November 1896, of Brinje house 165, daughter of HOFJEVAC JURE and HOFJEVAC KATE, both of Brinje, farmers, Croats. Informants "Bićanić Marko i Vuković Kate". A CONTRADICTION THAT PREVENTS A MERGE: Luka Hofjevac, son of Jure and Kate Perković, was born on 3 August 1896, only 16 weeks before this birth, so the two entries cannot be one mother's children as dated; either a second Jure Hofjevac x Kate household (the surname is common here), or a date is misread. Recorded as written; not merged. FOUND ON 5 OCTOBER 2026 ON THE FULL READABLE-ZOOM RE-READ OF THE SECOND BIRTHS BOOK (1893-1897).
