Read out of a register, and not in the family tree

Luce Borić, wife of Tome Karakaš (1895)

Birth of a child, 7 November 1895, Brinje, Croatia — mother of Karakaš Joso, of Brinje house 220 - a Borić woman married to a Karakaš, not in the tree.

The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it. FamilySearch, Croatia Church Books 1516-1994, Brinje Matična knjiga rođenih 1888-1900 (DGS 005498262, waypoint 9R26-82S), image 317 (page 236 of the register; the viewer shows the frame after 316), entry no. 152 - "KARAKAŠ JOSO", male, born 7 and registered 10 November 1895, of Brinje house 220, son of KARAKAŠ TOME and BORIĆ LUCE, both of Brinje, farmers, Croats. Informants read "Borić Ivica i Jela", matičar Sertić Šimun. NOT IN THE TREE. FOUND ON 5 OCTOBER 2026 on the readable-zoom re-read of the 300-318 stretch, which the first pass had logged as 'no new finds'. Read at high zoom: the mother's surname is the same Borić form as the Borić entries elsewhere in this register, not Đorić. A Borić woman whose child carries her husband's Karakaš name, so a search on Borić as a child's surname would never find it; it surfaces only as a mother or a witness. She is not placed in any Borić household here, and she is not merged with the Luce Borić of Tome Borić's house 141 (a daughter baptised 1899) or the Luce Borić wife of Pave Sertić.
