Read out of a register, and not in the family tree
Lukas Kosina the elder
Named as parent, 1773 and 1779, župnija Kranj-Šmartin — A KOSINA FATHERING CHILDREN 1773-1779 - the candidate father of Franz, Matthaeus and Lukas.
The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other
person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists
because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than
put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it.

- Krstni index Kranj-Šmartin 1603-1779, the K section, read 27 September 2026 - TWO ENTRIES: "KOSINA GERTRUD (Lukas) 2.3." under 1773, and "KOSINA HELENA (Lukas) 26.4." under 1779. The index gives the FATHER in brackets and a date, and no page, so these are two daughters of a LUKAS KOSINA baptised six years apart. HE CANNOT BE THE LUKAS THIS ARCHIVE ALREADY HAS. That Lukas married in 1799 aged 29, so he was born about 1770 and was three years old when Gertrud was baptised. THIS IS AN OLDER MAN OF THE SAME NAME, fathering children at Kranj-Šmartin from 1773. AND THAT IS EXACTLY THE GENERATION THIS ARCHIVE HAS BEEN SHORT OF. Its three earliest Kosina men are MATTHAEUS born about 1774, FRANZ born 1775-76 and LUKAS born about 1770 - three men born inside six years, whom the archive has only ever been able to call brothers on the arithmetic of their ages. A Lukas Kosina fathering children in 1773 and 1779 is a candidate for their father, and the 1773 and 1779 girls would be their sisters. NOTHING PROVES IT. No entry yet read names Lukas the elder’s wife, his house or his village, and the two baptisms have NOT been opened - the index carries no page number and the register (sig. 00883) has not been walked to find them. THE TEST IS THE HOUSE: if either girl is baptised at Oberfeichting 9, the house Franz held and died in, the case is made; if neither is, it is not. THE REST OF THE K SECTION, 1747 to 1772, HAS NOT BEEN READ, so there may be more of them. Matricula, NSAL sig. 00872 images 71 and 72
