Read out of a register, and not in the family tree
Lukas Kosina
Marriage, 1799, župnija Kranj-Šmartin — married 1799 aged 29 - father of the OTHER Gertraud, and not ours.
The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other
person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists
because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than
put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it.

- Poročna knjiga Kranj-Šmartin 1780-1815 - "LUKAS KOSINA, katholisch, 29, ledig", married in 1799, so born about 1770. HE CLOSES AN OPEN QUESTION: the 1812-1831 baptismal index offered TWO Gertraud candidates, and the 1818 one (book p.72, house 12) had a father whose surname could not be read - "Lukas Ko[s]in..." - at the resolution Matricula serves. This is that man. The 1818 Gertraud is HIS daughter and not Franz's, which leaves the 1814 Gertraud as Martin's mother with no rival. HIS CHILDREN, 27 September 2026: TWO are now named, and his surname is no longer unreadable. Book p.16 gives MARIANNA, baptised 12 August 1813 at house 27, and book p.72 gives GERTRAUD, baptised 16 February 1818 at "Lemny" house 12 - the village as the clerk wrote it, not resolved. BOTH entries name the father LUKAS KOSINER, Kaischler, and both name the mother LUZIA; her surname is written differently in the two hands and neither reading is secure. At fourteen times magnification the surname is KOSINER on both, which is how these clerks write this family name - Franz is KOSINAR and KOSINER in the same decades. AND THE 1813 DAUGHTER IS ALMOST CERTAINLY THE MARIANNA KOSINA who died at BREG 12 on 10 January 1840, aged 26, a Keuschlerstochter: the age fits to the month and the trade is the same word. HIS VILLAGE, 27 September 2026: READ CLEANLY TWICE AND STILL NOT IDENTIFIED. The 1799 marriage puts him at "LEMY 37" and the 1818 baptism of his daughter Gertraud at "LEMNY 12" - the same short name in two hands nineteen years apart, and the column header of the 1818 page is "DER ORTEN", so it is a place and not anything else. At thirteen times magnification the 1799 form is four letters, a kurrent capital L, then e or o, then m, then y. IT MATCHES NO SETTLEMENT IN THE PARISH LIST Matricula publishes - but that list is NOT EXHAUSTIVE, because the same 1818 page carries "PRSCHAN" for Prase, which is not in it either. So the likeliest answer is a hamlet too small for a summary list, and this is a question for somebody who knows the ground rather than for more magnification. AND THERE IS ONE HYPOTHESIS WITH A NUMBER BEHIND IT. Lukas is at Lemny 12 in 1818; his daughter MARIANNA dies at BREG 12 in 1840. THE SAME HOUSE NUMBER, the same family, twenty-two years apart. Either the household moved from one village 12 to another village 12, which happens, or LEMY IS A PART OF BREG under a name the clerks used and the gazetteers do not. THE WORDS DO NOT RESEMBLE EACH OTHER, which is the weakness of it, and this archive is not going to turn a house number into a place name.
