BORN AND BAPTISED THE SAME DAY, 7 AUGUST 1859, at Oberfeichting 9 - Johann’s house, the house his father held before him and his nephew Martin was born in. She is Johann’s sixth known child and the third by Ursula Sedej, after Franziska 1853 and Ana 1856. HOW SHE WAS FOUND: not by looking for her. On 27 September 2026 the K section of the baptismal index for 1832-1870 was read end to end to settle a count, and she is entry 262 - "Maria Kozina - 159" - a name the archive had never carried. The count of FIVE Kozina baptisms in that volume was short by her. HER FATHER WAS SIXTY-ONE when she was born on this book’s own arithmetic - he died in 1868 aged 64 - so she was nine when she lost him, and her sister Franziska had died of measles in that house when she was four. WHAT IS NOT KNOWN is what became of her: she is not in the 1836-1869 death register, which this archive walked in full, so she was alive in 1870. AND WHAT BECAME OF HER IS NOW KNOWN, on the same day she was found. She married KANCIJAN ČESEN, a cottager’s son of STRAŽIŠČE 120, in the summer of 1883, aged 23 - and the marriage entry gives her residence as the RAILWAY STATION AT PODNART and her birthplace as "rojena v Zgornjem Bitnju št. 9", with her parents as JANEZ KOZINA, gruntar, and URŠA SEDEJ. SHE IS THEREFORE THE SAME WOMAN as the "Marija Kozina" this file carried as UNPLACED for six days - the only Kozina woman the archive found in twenty-five years of the 1890-1911 death register, known there only as the mother of two children who died at Stražišče 84 in 1892 and 1893.
