Read out of a register, and not in the family tree
Matthaeus Kosinar
Death, 16 April 1819, Oberfeichting (Zgornje Bitnje) 14, župnija Kranj-Šmartin — witness at Franz Kosinar's marriage - and his DEATH says brother, not father.
The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other
person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists
because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than
put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it.

What the register says
- Event
- death
- Date
- 16 April 1819
- Place
- Oberfeichting (Zgornje Bitnje) 14, župnija Kranj-Šmartin
- Citation
- Poročna knjiga Kranj-Šmartin 1780-1815 - one of the two Beystände at the marriage of Franz Kosinar and Maria Dortschen on 27 October 1800, entered "MATTHAEUS KOSINAR" and SIGNING WITH A CROSS, so he could not write. The other witness is "Simon Rauth"; both are entered "Bauern". HIS DEATH, read 22 September 2026: Mrliška knjiga Kranj-Šmartin 1812-1835 book p.64 - "1819, den 16ten April · Ober-Feichting · 14 · MATTHÄUS KOSINA · Keischler · katholisch · männlich · ALTER 45 · Rothlauf und Brand". DIED 16 APRIL 1819, AGED 45, so born about 1774 - WHICH ANSWERS THE OPEN QUESTION. Franz was born 1775-76. Two men born a year or two apart are not father and son, so the man who stood witness in 1800 was FRANZ'S BROTHER and was twenty-six when he did it. He is the only Matthäus Kozina in the parish death index for 1812-1835. Matricula, NSAL sig. 00901 image 33 and sig. 00894 image 33
