Read out of a register, and not in the family tree
Niko Kalanj, witness at Plašćica 4
Witness at a baptism, 28 September 1899, Plašćica, Brinje parish, Croatia — witness to the baptism of Buhlić Ivan, of Plašćica - not in the tree.
The family tree has never heard of this person. Every other
person page in this archive is a record the MyHeritage export holds. This one is not: it exists
because the register was read at the page, and it is kept beside the tree rather than
put into it. The tree is an export and this archive does not edit it.

What the register says
- Event
- witness at a baptism
- Date
- 28 September 1899
- Place
- Plašćica, Brinje parish, Croatia
- Citation
- FamilySearch, Croatia Church Books 1516-1994, Brinje Matična knjiga rođenih (third item on the same film as DGS 005498262, waypoint 9R26-82S, entries numbering within calendar year 1899), image 472, entry no. 94 - the baptism of "BUHLIĆ IVAN", male, born 28 September and registered 1 October 1899, of Plašćica 4, son of Buhlić Franjo and Murat Marija, names "KALANJ NIKO" as a witness alongside Murat Ruže. NOT IN THE TREE. A witness only. The surname reads Kalanj; the Kalauj/Kalanj doubt that this row once carried was settled on 5 October 2026 (see Marija Kalanj, daughter of Jure Kalanj, 1891, this file): Kalauj is Kalanj. The given name Niko is the name of Niko Kalanj of Brinje house 231 (married 1890, this file), who may be standing witness at a neighbouring hamlet's baptism; that is a plausible, unconfirmed link, not a merge.
