Alejandro LERENA TRAIBEL (formerly recorded as LERENA LENGUAS)

CORRECTED 14 SEPTEMBER 2026, AND THE CORRECTION MOVES HIM BETWEEN BRANCHES. This archive recorded him on 13 September as "A SIXTH CHILD of Luis Lerena and Justiniana Lenguas", born 29 May 1845. BOTH HALVES WERE WRONG. The act reads: "bautizo solemnemente a ALEJANDRO, que nacio el veinte y nueve de Mayo del pasado ano CUARENTA Y TRES, hijo legitimo de AVELINO SERENA y AMBROSIA TRAIBEL. Paternos FRANCISCO y MARIA FERNANDEZ. Maternos JUAN e ISABEL CENTENO. Padrinos LUIS [L]ERENA y JUSTINIANA LENGUAS." He is a son of AVELINO, not of Luis - and Luis and Justiniana are his GODPARENTS, which is how the archive came to read them as his parents. The two brothers brought their children to the same font on the same morning and stood for each other's. So he is the ELDEST KNOWN CHILD OF AVELINO LERENA AND AMBROSIA TRAIBEL - eight years before Josefa and thirteen before Alfredo, who was born 2 October 1856 and not the 1858 this register carried until 20 September - and this row said he "pushes their marriage back before May 1843". THAT LAST CLAIM IS WITHDRAWN, 20 September 2026, AND SO IS THE CONFIDENCE IN HIS BIRTH YEAR. The page was re-read end to end and all three acts on it give the year in the identical words, "del pasado ano cuarenta y tres" - including one for a different couple. The phrase contradicts itself (these acts open "En siete de Enero de mil ochocientos cuarenta y seis", so "el pasado ano" is 1845), and it cannot be literally true, because the two children of Luis and Justiniana on this page would then be born five months apart. So the year here is a formula, not a statement, and nothing outside this page dates Alejandro at all. His birth is UNDETERMINED BETWEEN 29 MAY 1843 AND 29 MAY 1845, the born_est below is the earlier of the two and not a finding, and the safe floor for the marriage of Avelino and Ambrosia is before May 1845. See data/montevideo-1846-lerena-baptisms.tsv. AND HE IS A FOURTH ALEJANDRO. See data/the-three-alejandros.tsv: the enrolment cards of Cajon 985 name an ALEJANDRO MAXIMO LERENA, born Uruguay 1839, whose parents no record here names. Four years apart from this man. NOTHING POSITIVE LINKS THEM and they stay separate rows, but the candidate pool has changed and the table needs re-reading. AND ON 27 SEPTEMBER 2026 A SECOND SON OF THE SAME COUPLE WITH THE SAME FORENAME WAS PROVED TO EXIST ON A PLATE. The Cordon act of 26 December 1877 names 'D. ALEJANDRO M. LERENA ... abuelos paternos D. AVELINO y D.a AMBROSIA TRAIBEL'. THAT IS EITHER THIS MAN OR A BROTHER OF THE SAME NAME, AND THE FIRST IS FAR LIKELIER - families reused a forename when a child died, and nothing here shows the 1846 infant died. The stated ages of Alejandro M. put his birth between March and November 1844; this act offers 29 May 1843 or 1845. The two rows stand until one record joins or separates them.
