The mark describes the person, not the link. Of the 4 relatives drawn here, 3 have a document of their own in this archive — but that is not the same as a document tying them to this person. This archive holds no separate proof for most parent–child links; where it does, the note above this chart says so in words.

What the registers say about Martin / Martinus

YearDocument The citation, in the register's own words
1841 baptism Kranj-Šmartin (Carniola, now Slovenia), Krstna knjiga 1832-1870 book p.64, read 21 September 2026 — «born and baptised 16 November 1841, Oberfeichting (Zgornje Bitnje) No. 9, katholisch, Knaben», THE TICK IS IN THE UNEHELICH COLUMN and THE VATER COLUMN IS BLANK; mother «Gertraud Kosina, hüblnn. Tochter», a Häusler's daughter; godparents Lorenz Pizz and Maria Kashar; baptised by «Blas. Ulzhar, Coop.». The tree has only «1841». 1888 marriage Senj marriages p.209 entry 1, «1888 dne 12 siečnja», read at 4x — he is 47, a bachelor and a «trgovac», and the Locus Originis cell reads «KRANJSKA ŽUPA SV. MARTIN KOD KRAINBURG»: Carniola, the parish of St Martin near Kranj. HIS PARENTS' COLUMN GIVES «Gertruda Kozina, posjednica» AND A DASH WHERE THE FATHER BELONGS — the same absence the Kranj register recorded on the day he was born. Witnesses include «Ivan Boras, kr. pomorske straže nadstojnik», the bride's brother. photos/line/4505845-martin-kosina-and-angjelika-boras-marriage-1888.jpg notes/the-kosina-are-filed-under-senia.md
1894 named-on-a-child-baptism Senj births p.223 entry 37 — born 15 ožujka 1894 and baptised 16 travnja 1894, «zakonit», of «Martin Kosina i Angjelika r. Boras» of Senj; godparents «Mihael Bosco, trgovac, i Franjo Berčić»; baptised by «Vinko Margan, kapelan». AND THE MARGIN CARRIES HIS DEATH: «† 8.X.1943» above his name, in the parish's own hand, where until then that date rested on the gravestone alone. A second annotation reads «vjenčan dne 20.XI.1919». photos/line/4505826-pavao-kosina-birth-1894.jpg Named on Pavao Kosina's entry rather than their own — a register names you is not a register is about you. notes/pavao-kosina-baptism-1894.md

Where this sits in the family

Not on the direct line. They are published because they belong to one of the eight surnames this archive follows.

The register spells this surname more than one way, and the search folds the forms together — so Xubrinich and Žubrinić, Joannis and Ivan, find each other.

None. This person carries no source string at all in the tree. They may still be right — but nothing here can be checked without going to the register. Method →

An online family tree is a witness, not a source. Where a citation points at a parish register or a FamilySearch image, that is the thing worth going to. Sources →
