Croatia, filed under other countries
Every FamilySearch collection that could hold a record for this family's ground, opened one by one — including the ones that hold nothing, so nobody walks them twice.
So on 15 September 2026 the whole of FamilySearch was walked: all 3,488 historical record collections, every title read, and every one that could plausibly hold a record for this family's ground opened through its browse tree or searched inside.
This page is the complete result, including the failures. A negative is recorded as carefully as a find, because the point of it is that nobody has to walk that collection again.
Croatia, Church Books (the original) · Croatia, Delnice Deanery — a second Croatian collection nobody knew was there, browsable only by film · Italy, Pola and Trieste — five Croatian Istrian parishes filed by Italy · Slovenia, Prekmurje and Međimurje — 46 districts, nearly all Croatian towns, under Hungarian names · and Italy, Udine, already here for Carnia.
Thirty-nine others were opened and hold nothing for us.
And Croatia itself has exactly two collections. For a country with a thousand-year parish record, that is the whole of it.
Hungary introduced civil registration in 1895; Croatia-Slavonia did not, keeping the parish books as the legal record until 1946. So there is no Croatian civil registration anywhere to find — it was never created. And Austria's collection is a name index of the Alpine dioceses, not of the Littoral, which stopped being Austrian in 1918 and whose registers stayed in Istria.
On present evidence those three parishes are filmed nowhere at all. Pazin holds the paper, and that is the only route left.
9,626 records at Padova · 6,546 at Venice · 2,076 at Verona · 1,285 at Treviso · 289 in Tyrol, around Bozen and Salorno.
None of them is this family, and none can be shown not to be without a document. The Mione households already proved the surname was a population rather than a family in one valley. This is the same proof at the scale of a province, and it is why this archive will not bridge two places on a name.

5 hold places on this family's ground. The other 39 were opened and hold nothing — recorded so that nobody opens them again.
