The family
No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.
What the archive knows
A Carnian marrying into the castle, a century after the Carnians settled it.
Witnesses D.no Mattio Bergamo and Vitorio Defranceschi; the couple were examined by D. Francesco Fabris. (doc.)
«da Cargna» — out of Carnia, the mountains this archive's oldest thread runs back to. His father is Nicolò; no parish of origin is given beyond the region.
He is the second Carnian on this film to marry into the castle in five years, after Nicolò Corva «dà Cargna», diocese of Udine, in January 1774. (The pattern is doc; what it means is worklist 136's question.)
Born about 1750 — estimated from the marriage.
---
29 September 2026 — he buried her, and married again five years later.
21 February 1784: «Gioan Battista Steffanutto nativo della Carnia, vedovo della q. Antonia nata de Franceschi» marries Angiola, relitta q. Domenico Galluzzi, both of this parish — dispensed from the banns by letter of the Curia of Parenzo of the 18th. Witnesses Rev.do Pre. Francesco Fabris, Vittorio de Franceschi, and Antonio Sivizico campanaro. — frame 96. (doc.)
«nativo della Carnia» — a native of Carnia, said plainly here where the 1779 act had only «da Cargna». It is the same man and the same origin, written twice, five years apart.
And a Defranceschi stood witness at his second wedding as at his first — Vittorio here, as «Vitorio» in 1779. The castle did not drop him when his Defranceschi wife died.
