The family

No family chart is drawn for this person, and that is a statement about the data rather than about them. This archive records kin against a name — the tree on a name page gathers everyone who shares it, so it may hold one person's dates beside another's wife. Rather than hand a reader a family that might not be this person's, the chart is drawn only where the relationship is recorded person by person, which today means the direct line.

What the archive knows

Baptised 20 July 1789 at Gologorica, house 36 — and the register names her mother, who is not the woman this archive had given her. > «Maria Rosa=/lia Defrances=/chi ex Loco», house 36, baptised by a.R.D. Antonius Giacich ex abatia; father «Joh: Baptis[ta]»; mother's surname column «Catharina JOBLICH»; godmother «Rosalia Baxa uxor Petri, ex Lindar». The child is named Rosalia after her godmother. (doc.) She is the Maria who dies in the 1826 household census. Page 3 of the status animarum records a Maria Defranceschi, civilitas, died 30 September 1826, aged 37 years 2 months 10 days. That arithmetic lands on 20 July 1789 to the day. So her death is documented too, and she was thirty-seven. ⚠ Her mother is corrected. This archive had her as a daughter of Joannes Baptista and Mariana; the register says Catharina Joblich — the same woman who appears three years earlier as «Cath. ejus uxor nata Jablich ex Buccari», born a Jablich of Bakar. Only this child is reassigned; the other five of casa 36 are not, because no register has been read for them and Joannes Baptista may well have had two wives. Four roster rows had grown around this one woman — see the ones marked `sameAs` against this pid. (doc.) Gologorica baptisms 1784–1880, Džavni arhiv u Pazinu microfilm ZM34K-214, image M01069020, entry of 20 July 1789, house 36; and the status animarum of 1826, image M01069321, for her death. --- ⭐ 6 October 2026 — THE DEATH REGISTER ENTRY ITSELF, and it says where she is buried. Her death was known here from the 1826 household census. Walking the death book produced the entry behind it: > p. 66, image M01069261: «Die 30: 7bris 1826 hora 3tia p.m. · 12 · Maria filia Defti Jo:is B:tæ Defranceschi · 37 · hectica · Adm.dm Rev. D.nus Lorentius Batel, Ca[pell]anus ad S. Petrum in Barbana, ibi sepelivit» Four things the census could not give: the house (12), the cause (hectica — consumption), the hour, and ⭐ the place of burial. She was buried at BARBAN, some forty kilometres south, by its chaplain — not in her own parish. ⚠ Why she was at Barban is not known and is not guessed at here. (doc — DAPA ZM34K-214, M01069261, p. 66.) The book's own index pointed at the page: «Maria filia q. Joan: Bapta — 66».
