- Maria de Franceschi, wife of Gasparo (fl. 1744–1773) — about 1720, Svetvinčenat
Wife of Gasparo Defranceschi, named as his six times, and the widow who dates his death. 5 May 1744: «patrini fuerunt Dominicus del Corvo … et Maria uxor Caspari Defranceschi» — magnified and read letter by letter, and the first of six such lines between 1744 and 1749. (doc.) 30 March 1773 she remarries: «Joannes Volge, et Maria relicta q.m Gasparis de Franceschi» — the widow of the late Gasparo. (doc.) ⚠ Her existence is what convicts the register twice. «Pascasia uxor Caspari Defranceschi» appears on 16 December 1751 and 3 February 1752 — but Caspar's wife is this woman, named as his through the 1740s, and Pascasia is Jacobo's, proved by a joint line in 1753. Because Maria is on the page, the clerk's two errors can be convicted rather than merely suspected. And she brackets her husband's death. He is alive as a witness on 13 August 1766 — «Gaspare de Franceschi q.m Ant.o ex hoc Castro» — and she is his widow by 30 March 1773. So he died between those two dates. (inf, and only as good as the identification of the 1766 witness with her husband.) Born about 1720 — estimated. 28 September 2026 — her remarriage read at source. Frame 65 of the marriage film carries it in full: «Joannes Volge, et Maria v.da q.m Gasparis de Franceschi, dispensatione obtenta a tribus denunciationibus … testibus R.do D.no Michaele Luciani et D.no Josepho Ligi», 30 March 1773. The entry this page already carried is confirmed on the plate, and the word is vidua — widow. (doc.)

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
