- Mattio Defranceschi (carpenter of Poreč, fl. 1844–1846) — about 1815, Poreč
A falegname — a carpenter — at Parenzo, married to Domenica Frezza. Named on two baptisms in the town's register: · Anna Maria, born 20 October, baptised 11 November 1844. · «Parenzo li 28 Luglio 1846. Paolo Francesco Domenico figlio delli giugali Mattio Defranceschi falegn. e Domenica Frezza nacque li 26 corr.» — baptised by Canon Pietro Monfalcon, godparents Francesco Marchese de Polesini and Ellena de Filippini-Coletti, midwife Elena Weber. The godfather is the point. The Polesini were the first noble house of Parenzo, and a marquis of that family stood for a carpenter's son. (doc for both baptisms; the birth estimate is inf.) Film 005497830 (Liber Baptizatorum, Parenzo — Poreč), read on the plate 22 September 2026. One of David's own citations, never opened here until now.
0 of the 8 relationships drawn above are written in a register this archive has read with its own eyes. 8 come from a FamilySearch index entry — a transcription, not the page.

This archive holds 10 other pages under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
