- Nadal Defranceschi — dates unknown, Svetvinčenat
A third Defranceschi household in the castle, and he is here only as a father. The P page of the Svetvinčenat births index names him twice — «Piero di Nadal Defranceschi» about 1725 and again on 12 February 1734. Nadal is Natale, and he is not the Nardo (Leonardo) who fathered Piero in 1707 and Maria in 1709. So by the 1730s the castle holds at least five men of the name fathering children — Nardo, Piero, Batta, Giacomo and Nadal — which is what the Atti meant by calling this the one surname with a continuity in San Vincenti. (inf — named in records, with none of his own yet.) He steps out of the index and onto a leaf. On 12 July 1732, carta 79 verso, «Padrini al S. Fonte furono D. Nadal Defraneschi» — godfather to Valentin, son of Micò Vitich, with the honorific D. Beware the same leaf: four entries below him a godmother is entered as «Maria mog. di Nadal Venir», a different man and a different family. (doc.)

This archive holds 1 other page under what Say Your Name reconciles as the same given name in another language — a Latin register, a Venetian clerk, a Croatian village, a Hungarian office. They are not merged and none of them is claimed to be this person: a shared name is not a shared identity, and the archive will not join one to the other by machine. It is here so that a reader looking for a man the records called Josephus can see where they wrote him Josip.

This person has not been written up in an essay yet — most often read straight off a register page that no index anywhere contains. What is known is at the top, and the pages linked above are where the finding sits.
A dossier is every mention of a name anywhere in this archive's data, gathered automatically and linked back to the page it appears on, with what the archive knows about the person set out at the top. Identity here is by NAME, not by resolved individual: where two people share a name they share a dossier, and the archive says so rather than guessing. Rebuilt from the roster, so every person the archive can name has a page — including the ones read straight off a register that no index anywhere contains.
